Self Confidence

In NYC, all of New York, and California

On the outside you’ve hit many of the traditional markers of success: a decent education, a well paid job, and relationships that matter to you.

Yet underneath it all you feel more like a shy introvert who’s gotten good at performing as someone who’s got it all together rather than actually embodying it. In reality, you feel like there’s always something more you should or could be doing better.

Not to mention the constant pressure to always be: up-leveling, hitting the next goal, anti-aging, losing weight, getting fit (or simply loving the body you have), being a better parent, paying for that next vacation or new home… which you can’t ever seem to sustain for long.

Self confidence issues can feel like they’re holding you back from truly believing in yourself or prioritizing more of your needs.

Does it feel like you’re always one step behind or unsure of yourself?

Maybe you experience this as…

  • Issues with indecision, commitment, or trusting yourself.

  • Fears of rejection or judgment that cause you to hide.

  • Avoiding conflict or not speaking up for your time or needs.

  • Constantly criticizing yourself and dismissing praise or compliments.

  • Under-earning or feeling financially insecure (despite what the numbers show).

  • Not making time for things like self-care, hobbies, or a social life because you’re always working.

It’s like you’re on a never ending hamster wheel trying to prove yourself and believe in your worth, always seeking some sort of external validation that lets you know you’re doing okay. When you do hit a milestone of success you’re immediately on to the next thing, never stopping to celebrate or fully take in what you’ve accomplished.

In the end you feel exhausted and burnt out from always over-doing and having to constantly “be on”.  Meanwhile, your relationships feel distant or surface level, and your health and wellbeing are starting to suffer.

This is not how life is supposed to feel.

Therapy for Self Confidence can help you take charge of your life.

It’s possible to live life without always having to be on or exhausted from the constant hustle, and instead feel more peace and calm.

Imagine a life where you feel secure about your worth and value, feel comfortable being your true self, and stop settling for less than what you deserve.

Imagine being able to take more healthy risks outside of your comfort zone while simultaneously celebrating your successes and savoring more of the good.

How therapy for Self Confidence works.

My approach focuses on helping you gain awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and ways of approaching life, so you can learn to navigate both the ups and downs more intentionally.

We’ll do this by looking under the surface to see where your self-confidence or self-esteem issues may have taken root or got thrown off course, and work to heal any past traumas that could be interfering in the now. Working together you will practice new ways of being with yourself to strengthen compassion, patience, and trust all while re-authoring the way you see and feel about who you are.

This is a highly collaborative and action oriented experience that goes deeper than just talking about the problems. While the hardest part might be slowing down and making space to feel any painful emotions that could be trapped in your body, or learning to see and own your strengths in new ways, I will be your guide every step of the way through.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

  • Self-esteem and self-confidence are often used interchangeably though they have slight differences. Self-confidence describes the way you feel about your capabilities and skills, while self-esteem describes the way you feel about and value yourself as a person. Having good self-confidence means you feel more in control of your life, which as a by-product can help enhance your self-esteem.

  • Some signs of low self-confidence or low self-esteem can be:

    • Believing life is always out of your control and you’ll never be able to achieve your goals.

    • Feeling worthless or like you have to prove your value through action.

    • Feeling like a failure or like you’re never good enough.

    • Constantly criticizing yourself and the things you do for not being perfect.

    • Not speaking up for yourself, asking for a raise, or using your voice to share your ideas and feelings.

    • Letting yourself be treated poorly in relationships.

    • Not applying for a job because you don’t hit all the criteria.

  • Yes it certainly can!

My approach to working on self-confidence issues is intertwined with also addressing any underlying issues of low self-esteem or self-worth. By learning to trust your ability to handle things in life and take charge of how you respond, you can start to build more faith and belief in who you are overall.

My goal is to help you know your value and worth no matter what success or accomplishments you achieve. And believe in your ability to act on your behalf.
